An enchanting oasis in the desert that has been a rest stop on the caravan trail since its earliest times. Today, Al Ain has become a garden city and also has a university. The road from Dubai brings us through breathtaking desert scenery. We stop at the archaeological excavations at Hili, which are about 5,000 years old.
On the way to the Al Ain Museum, next to the ancient fortress, we stroll through the traditional souk in the town of Buraimi. We continue with a short walk through Al Ain Oasis with its ancient falaj irrigation system. Following this, we will head to Jebel Hafeet, a great mountain overlooking the incredible beauty of Al Ain city You can enjoy that beautiful view.
We will then explore the hot springs at the Foot of the Mountain, which are abundant throughout the region, and of which the water is said to have a mysterious and magical therapeutic power.
In the afternoon, after lunch, we stop at the Al Ain Palace Museum. The palace was the home of the late ruler, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, from 1927 until the early 1970s. Interesting exhibits, including a collection of family portraits, offer insight into the way the royal family lived and entertained. To end the tour, we will stop at the traditional camel market before returning to Dubai.
