Pyramids and Christmas Nile Cruise by Train

Wake up and have a full breakfast in your Cairo hotel and prepare to have a full day of luxury and exploration.

Visit the Valley Temple of Chephren that was part of the mummifying process of the king.

Lunch in one of the local restaurants and then visit the Egyptian Museum, located on Tahrir Square. The museum also possesses an incomparable number of Egyptian antiquities such as the entire treasures of the boy king, Tutankhamun.

Keep exploring in Coptic Cairo where you will gain access to Roman fortress of Babylon, the Hanging Church, the Church of St. Sergius (the holy family church) and the Ben Ezra Synagogue. These historical places are a rich exploration into the Christian history of Cairo.

Then go to Islamic Cairo whereby you will be able to visit the most ancient market in the world, the Khan El Khalili bazaar. Have a little shopping and maybe a cup of tea at a local cafeteria, and imbibe the disposition of this old quarter.

You will be taken to the Giza train station after daylong sightseeing and then your overnight journey to Luxor will be done. Take dinner and breakfast in your own compartment.

Wake up in a pleasant breakfast buffet and then off to an exploration of the West Bank of Luxor. You can come back to the ship after your exploration tour in the morning and then have a tasty lunch as you resume your journey to Edfu. Spread out the scenic scenery of Nile during tea time.

Enjoy your breakfast and be ready for some great Aswan adventures taking the course in your boat along the cars to the greatest hors temple of Edfu, the Ptolemaic Temple of Horus. It's hard to ignore a falcon god. This temple is even quite preserved to date. The carriage once did its circuit, taking you back to your cruise ship down the Nile to continue the journey to Aswan.

Kom Ombo, your next stop in Egypt Christmas holidays, fall to anchor alongside Sartar for a visit to that monument—the unique Kom Ombo Temple infamously attributed to the Crocodile God, Sobek, and the Falcon God, Haroeris. When that fantastic visit is final, your guide will then lead you back to MS Royal Lily Nile Cruise for lunch on board.

The ancient city of Aswan is where our journey will begin with a visit to the well-known High Dam, a major scientific excavation within the ruins of Egypt. From the Dam, we will next proceed to the fascinating Philae Temple. The temple was built to honor the goddess Isis and dates back to around 280 B. C. during the reign of Ptolemy II Philadelphia. With her calm expression, she lies at leisure on an island, and the approach by boat is one of pure delight.

Egyptian Christmas holidays continue as you visit granite quarries at Aswan where the largest obelisk, the Unfinished Obelisk, lies unfinished. Ways to observe the techniques of an ancient civilization and the power needed to carve these gigantic granite structures are documented.

In the evening, cruise ships will serve your meal and the last night of your sleep will end aboard this serene ride along the Nile.

Having a delightful breakfast at your MS Royal Lily Nile cruise, the sun comes out to light up Egypt's Christmas holidays for another day to explore at leisure while in Aswan or enjoy any optional excursions like visiting the temples of Abu Simbel. These temples were built for only two figures- Ramesses II and his wife Nefertari; they are carved from the mountain rock. Another option is to visit the Nubian Village while a felucca ride can relax both you on the Nile.

In the evening, your representative from Cairo Top Tours will accompany you to the Aswan train station, from where you will board the Sleeper Train back to Cairo. Overnight, you will enjoy a light dinner at the compartment's comfort within the train.
