This has its origins from 1998 when the practice of ‘laughter yoga’ was founded by Indian doctor Madan Katori. This practice was based on the principle that emotions could be altered by laughter and as a result, members were encouraged to freely share laughter.

The development of laughter clubs and public laughter sessions in over 115 nations have turned World Laughter Day into more than just a day. It has become a dynamic event geared towards appreciating the role that laughter plays in the unification and embellishment of the earthly inhabitants.
