A world unto itself, the depths of the earth, because of its formation, interaction and attractions that make it a destination for adventurers and explorers, and because of the features left behind by the interaction of chemistry for millions of years.
“Spéléologie” is perhaps the title of what is studies, sports, recreation, leisure, adventure, contemplation and challenges related to the structure, components, organisms, caves, caverns, caverns and openings in the depths of the earth.
In addition to research, excavation, examination and identification in areas of karst geological formation, the exploration aims to reveal scenes of beauty and natural creation dating back millions of years of antiquity.
Thanks to researchers, enthusiasts and practitioners, this activity has been associated with the subterranean worlds, and its beginnings in Morocco date back to the years of the French protectorate through the contribution of a number of French explorers, who were interested in all things water, biology and formations whose origin and interaction were linked to the earth's interior.
Due to the structure of the Taza region and its geological structure as part of the threshold of what was known in the maritime history of Morocco as the South Rif Strait in the time of the Miocene, it was a destination for the first exploration activities in Morocco in the early 1930s, through the contributions of the Frenchman Norberkastri, who was credited with the discovery of the nearby caves of “Freewatto” and “Shiker”, as well as other neighboring caves south of Taza about twenty kilometers away.
