Kafr El Sheikh Governorate is an Egyptian governorate, located in the northernmost part of Egypt in the Nile Delta, with Kafr El Sheikh as its capital. It had a population of 3,172,753 in 2015 and an area of 3,748 km². Its entire area is located north of the delta and overlooks the Mediterranean Sea.
The governorate is administratively divided into 10 centres with 13 cities, namely: Kafr El Sheikh, Desouk, Fouh, Motobis, Qalayn, Sidi Salem, Riyadh, Sidi Ghazi, Bella, Hamoul, Baltim, Baltim Resort, and Burj El Burullus. The governorate celebrates its National Day on 4 November every year to commemorate the victory in the 1956 Burullus naval battle (68 years ago).
