In the morning we will meet our guide and driver and cross to the west bank of the Nile. Our first stops include the Colossi of Memnon statues and Hatshepsut's mortuary temple complex carved into the cliffs.

Next is the renowned Valley of the Kings tomb site. We'll tour a few rock-cut royal burial chambers and their decorative wall paintings.

After lunch at a local eatery, we'll visit an alabaster workshop to see craftspeople at work. Then we cross back to the east bank sites.

Our tour of the massive Karnak Temple complex will showcase its largest hypostyle hall and other elements constructed over centuries.

We end at the elegant Luxor Temple, the site of annual festivals. Before returning to our hotel, there will be time to briefly explore the surrounding town.

This one-day itinerary provides an overview of Luxor's most iconic archaeological treasures through selective site visits with an expert local guide.

Luxor Temple is a magnificent ancient Egyptian temple located on the east bank of the Nile in Luxor.
