After checking into your hotel, our English-speaking tour guide will lead you on a tour of the West Bank, a UNESCO World Heritage site that’s home to some of Egypt’s most famous landmarks.
First, explore the Tombs of the Nobles and the Valley of the Kings. You’ll also visit the Al-Deir Al-Bahari Temple, which, while a bit farther from Luxor’s city center, is well worth the trip. Here, you can see statues of various pharaohs, including King Tutankhamun, who was famously discovered in his tomb. Next, visit the Temple of Ramesses II, constructed during the 19th dynasty. These temples are surrounded by an intricate canal system, once used for irrigation and transportation.
Continue your journey with a visit to the Temple of Hatshepsut, built during the 18th dynasty and notable as one of Egypt’s earliest examples of female rulership.
Finally, stop at the Colossi of Memnon, two towering statues commissioned by King Amenhotep III for his mortuary temple, which was later taken over by King Merenptah for his temple.
After exploring these incredible sites, we will return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
