Located in Central Cairo's El Azhar neighborhood, the architecturally magnificent Wekalet El Ghouri Arts Centre boasts rich historical significance. Constructed five centuries ago by the Mameluke Sultan Qonsowa al-Ghouri, it has become a top destination for visitors to Egypt, offering captivating folkloric shows that showcase the country's heritage.

Tannoura Egyptian Folk Dance in Cairo

Under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture, the Tannoura Egyptian Folk Dance Show takes place in a large open-air theater at Wekalet El Ghouri every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. The show lasts for 1 hour and 15 minutes and features a spectacular Sufi dance performance known as the Tanoura dance. This show, which began in February 1988, is a must-see for anyone visiting Cairo.
