Camping is your passion and you are in for an adventure, take a day trip to Fayoum City or its camping grounds in Wadi El Hitan! This place, or more precisely this region, referred to as the "Valley of the Whales," is famous for its fossil sites. Since its finding in 1952, it has been locked away as a treasure of an archaeologist where ancient whales and sharks that lived ages ago have been fossilized and found.

You will sleep outside in the open, beneath the night sky, with the stillness of the desert night, and the next day, you will be in a good mood ready to explore the landmarks scattered all over the city of Cairo. Some of the last touristic explorations will include the pyramids of Ecuador, the great sphinx, and the Egyptian museum. This journey is undertaking to Fayoum is comprised of lazy leisure time to enjoy climate and scenery interspersed with cultural activities of exploring Egypt.

These short day trips in Egypt are for those who want to experience the beautiful landscapes of Fayoum and the wonders of Wadi El Hitan and at the same time would like to try an adventure camping.

Begin your day with easy coach transport from your hotel in Cairo to Fayoum which would take roughly an hour. When you reach, a private vehicle will transfer you to Wadi El Hitan which is famous for some of the great fossils in the world. This beautiful valley is located on the west bank of the Nile River in the Fayoum province which is southwest of Cairo and inhabited by a diverse set of erosion of animals many of which include crocodiles, hippos, turtles, and even some fishes.

En route to the beautiful fayaoum desert, we will also stretch through the beautiful village of Tunis where you will find a school for pottery arts. You will also get to see the beautiful Lake Qaroun on the way to our camping site. Under the instruction of our Local Expert, we set the camp in Wadi El Hitan, where we will spend the night glancing at the marvelous starry sky. There will be a buffet lunch at the campsite and a packed buffet breakfast, before we prepare to leave back for Cairo on the following day.

We also suggest staying for at least one night in this wonderful place to enjoy the whole range of its natural beauty. This combination of events to a great extent has no analogs that I believe will be appreciated and will be sought after.

For a great valley experience, dress in appropriate comfortable clothing as well as walkable shoes.

Following your morning meal, you will relish the beauty of the enchanting Lake Qaroun, famous for being one of the oldest natural lakes in the entire globe and being the third largest in the country of Egypt. Wadi El Rayan boasts two lakes connected by one and the only waterfalls in Egypt, giving a breathtaking image that is not found anywhere else on the globe. Before making your way back to the airport for your journey home, a short visit to the waterfalls of Egypt, which is the only one you can expect, will be made.

You may also choose to go sandboarding in El Fayoum, located within Wadi El Rayan, if you have extra time.
