Now known as Mit Rahina, Memphis was a hub of religion and culture for centuries. Here, you’ll visit the open-air museum, which is home to the impressive alabaster sphinx, the second-largest in Egypt, carved from an 80-ton block of marble. You’ll also come face-to-face with the colossal statue of King Ramses II, a truly remarkable sight.

After an enriching day of exploration, you’ll return to your hotel in Cairo for a relaxing overnight stay. If you're up for more adventure, you have the option to enjoy the spectacular Sound and Light Show at Giza, which brings the history of the pyramids to life in a captivating display.

After enjoying your breakfast at the hotel, you'll be accompanied by a professional tour guide to explore the wonders of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. This museum houses the largest and most valuable collection of ancient Egyptian artefacts in the world. One of the most captivating exhibits is the collection that belonged to the famous pharaoh, Tutankhamun, whose tomb was discovered by the renowned British archaeologist, Howard Carter, in 1922.

Next, you'll be escorted to the Citadel of Saladin, a 12th-century fortress that helped strengthen Cairo as the capital of Egypt. You'll then visit the renowned alabaster mosque, built by Mohamed Ali in 1805, and take in the picturesque panorama of Islamic Cairo, with its centuries-old mosques, minarets, and domes.

Your tour will continue in Coptic Cairo, where you'll explore the ancient Roman fortress of Babylon, the Hanging Church built above the fortress towers, and the Cavern Church, where the holy family is said to have stayed. You'll also visit the Ben Ezra Synagogue, believed to be the site where the Pharaoh's daughter found the basket of the prophet Moses in the Nile.

Your tour manager will then guide you through the Islamic Cairo district, where you'll be amazed by the walls, gates, and ancient streets and corners dating back to the 10th century. You'll have the opportunity to walk to the famous Khan El Khalili market, where you can savour delicious mint tea at the Al-Fishawy cafe and enjoy a wonderful shopping experience.

As an optional activity, you can attend the sound and light show at the Giza Pyramids in the evening.

After breakfast, you'll be taken to Cairo International Airport for a domestic flight to Aswan. Upon arrival, your guide will meet you and assist with boarding your Nile cruise ship.

Once on board, you'll enjoy a scenic sail on a traditional Felucca boat, exploring Kitchener's Island and visiting the Aga Khan Mausoleum.

Back on the cruise ship, you’ll have the chance to relax with afternoon tea on the upper deck. In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner while being entertained by a Nubian Folkloric show, marking your first night on the Nile.
