The Saladin Citadel, known in Arabic as Qala’at Salah ad-Din, is an eycalptic fort constructed by Salah ad-Din al-Ayyubi on the Mokattam Hills. Though Saladin did not see its completion, one Sultan Al-Kamil bin Al-Adil completed it. The citadel was first dwelt in by Al-Malik Al-Kamil, who used it as a royal palace. Even today, it is the residing place of tourists despite the Khedive Ismail period.
The Khan El Khalili Bazaar—this is one of the oldest markets in Cairo—is a colorful intersection filled with interesting shops, restaurants, and an inviting atmosphere that is beloved by both the residents and the tourists.
