After a morning meal at your hotel in Cairo, your guide will lead you out on a trip you are not likely to forget—the Giza Necropolis, a day tour that includes the visit to the infamous Giza pyramids. Your cheerful dawn breath will be greeted by the Great Pyramid at Giza. It was built for Pharaoh Khufu and, needless to say, stands as one of the most inspiring works of ancient Egypt history.
From the Giza Plateau, one can look down on the entire complex, which, on camel back, can serve as splendid photo op with the help of your enthusiastic bedouin guide. Then it is a short hop underground to the magnificent, awe-inspiring, complex-presiding statue of The Great Sphinx of Giza, Shesep-Ankh, living image of the deity.
Your round voyage will continue with a trip to The Valley Temple of Khafre, which represents a historical mummification center of the pharaohs. The temple is beautifully preserved and stands proud in the landscape with a potential view of the pyramids. If it will integrate well in the layout, you might want to inquire about visiting The Solar Boat Museum to see the reconstructed solar barque of King Khufu (optional).
In the afternoon, the tour continues to the Saqqara Necropolis, location of the famous Step Pyramid of Djoser and a number of tombs from the Old Kingdom. There will be an opportunity to visit one of the pyramids of the ancient Pharaohs, such as in the pyramid of King Teti or King Unas.
Then proceed to Memphis, the ancient capital in the past, and explore its open-air museum featuring giant statues such as the Alabaster Sphinx and the Colossal statues of King Ramesses II.
