Itinerary

At 6:00 AM, your Cairo Top Tours guide will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo or Giza. You'll be driven in a private vehicle for approximately four hours to reach Bahariya Oasis. Upon arrival, your Desert Egypt safari adventure begins with a visit to the Valley of the Golden Mummies, dating back to the Greco-Roman era, where you'll discover mummies of ancient Egyptian rulers.

Explore the rock-carved Tombs of Zed-Amun-Ef-Ankh and Bannentiu, along with the well-preserved 26th Dynasty Tombs of the Nobles in Bahariya. Visit the impressive Temple of Ain El-Meftella, located at the heart of Bahariya Oasis, and the Temple of Alexander the Great, who ruled the Egyptian Empire at a young age. After enjoying a delightful lunch, you’ll check into your hotel for a relaxing afternoon and take a dip in the hot springs.

As the day winds down, you'll be driven by a 4WD Jeep to ascend the Black Mountain, where you'll visit the English House and take in the breathtaking view of Bahariya Oasis at sunset. You'll spend the night in Bahariya.

Start your day with a delightful Egyptian breakfast before setting off on your Gara Cave adventure. You'll travel 170 km off-road, exploring ancient civilizations and passing through the Baharian Harra Village. Along the way, take in the stunning desert landscapes and enjoy a delicious lunch at the base of the dunes. As evening falls, savour a hearty dinner under the stars, embracing the serene desert ambience before camping overnight.

After breakfast, your licensed guide will take you to explore Gara Cave, also known as Djara Cave, an impressive natural wonder shaped by rain erosion in limestone over 55 million years ago. The cave features glittering rocks, with stunning stalactites and stalagmites formed by water dripping through the stone. Artefacts and ancient rock art discovered here provide evidence of human presence during prehistoric times, likely from the late Neolithic era. Next, embark on an off-road adventure to the breathtaking Valley of Agabat, where you'll marvel at the striking contrast between the massive white rock formations and the golden sands of the White Desert. You'll end the day with an overnight camp in this mesmerizing location.

After breakfast, you’ll continue your off-road adventure to Ain Khadra, where a bubbling spring awaits. This ancient water well is nestled near a lone palm tree on a hill, surrounded by pottery remnants from the Roman, Coptic, and medieval periods. Enjoy a delicious picnic lunch before heading to the Santa tree (Acacia tree) and exploring the stunning limestone formations during your White Desert journey. The White Desert is renowned for its cream-coloured limestone rocks, including fascinating shapes resembling a sphinx, a whale, and a rabbit. You’ll camp overnight in this extraordinary desert, entirely blanketed in white, chalky sand.

On the final day of your incredible Desert Safari to Gara Cave, start with a hearty breakfast before your journey back to Cairo.
