Enjoy your first breakfast at the hotel and prepare for an exciting day of Cairo day tours. Your certified English-speaking tour guide will meet you in the hotel lobby and accompany you to the Giza Necropolis. Here, marvel at the ancient wonders of the Giza Pyramids, built over 4,500 years ago during the 4th dynasty of the Old Kingdom. Admire the greatness of the Great Pyramid of Cheops, standing 146 meters tall with 2.3 million limestone blocks, a testament to the advanced skills of ancient Egyptian rulers.
Next, head to a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the plateau to behold the pyramids of Chephren and Mycerinus. Optionally, enjoy a camel ride around the Giza Pyramids and capture memorable photos under the guidance of your tour guide.
Continue your exploration at the pyramid complex of King Chephren, where you'll visit the Valley Temple. Step inside and encounter the Great Sphinx, a majestic statue that served as the guardian of the necropolis for centuries. Covered in sand until its excavation in 1889, the Sphinx remains an iconic symbol of ancient Egyptian history.
Proceed to Cairo downtown and visit El Tahrir Square to commence your tour of the Egyptian Museum. Home to an extensive collection of Egyptian antiquities displayed across two floors, the museum's highlights include the royal treasures of the golden pharaoh Tutankhamen.
Explore Coptic Cairo, starting with the Roman fortress of Babylon and the Hanging Church of the Holy Virgin Mary, also known as Al Mu'alaka due to its construction atop fortress towers. Your tour continues to the Church of the Holy Family, or the Church of St Sergius, where the holy family is said to have stayed for three months, with a nearby spring providing their water source. Conclude with a visit to Ben Ezra Synagogue, traditionally believed to be built on the site where baby Moses was found.
Later, transfer to the train station for your journey to Aswan. Enjoy dinner and overnight accommodation aboard the train.
