After enjoying an open-buffet breakfast at the hotel, your tour guide will meet you for a day exploring Cairo, including the Giza Pyramids, Dahshur, and Memphis.
Begin your tour at the Giza Pyramids, where you’ll be amazed by these monumental structures, built during Egypt’s Old Kingdom by its most powerful rulers. The Great Pyramid of King Cheops (Khufu) was constructed with over 2.3 million limestone blocks and stood 146 meters tall with each side measuring 230 meters. This grand tomb was designed to serve as an eternal resting place for the king.
You’ll also have a chance to view the three pyramids—Cheops, Chephren, and Mycerinus—from the high plateau. Chephren, Cheops' son, built his pyramid slightly smaller as a mark of respect, standing at 136 meters with some remains of the outer casing still visible.
Next, see the Great Sphinx, a statue of a lion with a human head, believed to have been constructed by King Chephren. Visit the Valley Temple, where the mummification of the king took place as part of his burial rites.
Continue your Cairo tour to Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt, now known as Mit Rahina. Explore the open-air museum, which features the second-largest sphinx made of alabaster and a colossal statue of King Ramses II, one of the most powerful kings of the New Kingdom.
Finally, visit the Dahshur Archaeological Site to see the Bent Pyramid and the Red Pyramid, built for King Snefru, the founder of the 4th dynasty and father of King Cheops. The Bent Pyramid is notable for retaining much of its original outer casing, while the Red Pyramid is recognised for its reddish limestone and is considered the first perfectly shaped pyramid in Egypt.
Enjoy a gourmet lunch at a high-quality restaurant with views of the Giza Pyramids before being transferred back to your hotel.
