Budget Cairo Short Break Trip

Begin your day with a hearty buffet breakfast at the hotel, then meet your certified tour guide to start your Budget Short Break in Egypt with a visit to the Saqqara Necropolis. You’ll be transported to this ancient burial site to explore the Step Pyramid of King Djoser, the tombs of the nobles, and the Pyramid of King Teti. Your guide will help make Egypt's history and ancient religious practices clear and accessible. King Djoser, a prominent ruler of the 3rd dynasty, had his Step Pyramid designed by the famed architect Imhotep. You’ll also visit the tomb of Kagemni, son-in-law of King Teti from the 6th dynasty.

Next, you'll head to the ancient city of Memphis to view artifacts from various periods of the pharaonic era, including the alabaster Sphinx of Memphis and the colossal statue of King Ramses II.

Continue to the Pyramids of Giza, where you'll explore the three pyramids built by the 4th dynasty kings: Cheops, Chephren, and Mycerinus. Marvel at the Great Pyramid of Khufu, which was the tallest man-made structure in the world for over 4,000 years until the Lincoln Cathedral's completion in 1311 A.D.

From the high plateau, enjoy panoramic views of the three pyramids and take an optional one-hour camel ride for stunning photos of the landscape. Visit the Great Sphinx of Chephren, the iconic man-headed lion, and the Valley Temple, part of Chephren’s mortuary complex, where your Egyptologist will explain the mummification process.

Savour a delicious lunch at a quality restaurant with views of the pyramids and the Sphinx. After completing your Cairo tours, you’ll be transferred back to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Start your day with breakfast at the hotel, then head to the Egyptian Museum, home to the world’s largest collection of Egyptian artifacts and sculptures, including the intact treasures of the golden pharaoh Tutankhamun discovered in Luxor. Next, visit historic churches such as the Hanging Church of the Holy Virgin Mary, which is suspended above two towers of the ancient Roman fortress of Babylon, and the Church of St. Sergius, where the holy family is said to have stayed during their time in Egypt. You'll also see the Ben Ezra Synagogue, the oldest synagogue in Old Cairo, which was formerly a Christian church.

Enjoy a delicious lunch before being transferred to the vibrant Khan El-Khalili market for a Cairo shopping tour. While sipping mint tea or fresh mango juice at a local café, take in the bustling street life and shop for unique items in the Al Hussein area. Your tour guide will also point out interesting early Islamic buildings on Al-Moez Street.

After your Cairo excursions, you’ll be transferred back to the hotel.

On the 4th day of your Budget Cairo Short Break Tour, enjoy breakfast at your Cairo hotel before meeting our representative, who will transfer you to Cairo International Airport for your flight home.
