Your buffet breakfast will be served in the main restaurant of your hotel in Cairo before we begin our Cairo day trips. Your accredited tour guide will pick you up to explore the Great Pyramids in Giza, starting with the pyramid of King Cheops, the largest of all Egyptian pyramids. It was constructed by approximately 100,000 workers, as estimated by archaeologists and historians.
Next, you'll visit the imposing pyramid of King Chephren, built about 20 years after the Great Pyramid, using millions of limestone blocks by Chephren, the son and heir of Cheops from the 4th dynasty of Pharaohs. You'll also see the smaller pyramid of Mycerinus and learn about the ancient Egyptian construction techniques.
From the high Giza plateau, you'll enjoy panoramic views of the entire necropolis and have the option to take a camel ride around the Giza Pyramids for stunning photos, guided by a Bedouin.
Descending to see the Sphinx, a statue with the head of a king on a lion's body, you'll learn about its ancient origins and the significance of its name, believed to have been derived from an earlier Egyptian name, possibly Shipses-ankh, meaning "the living image of a deity."
You'll then visit the Valley Temple of Chephren, an impressive structure built as part of the pyramid complex for the mummification of the pharaoh's body, and it remains the only valley temple at Giza.
After enjoying a panoramic view of all the Giza pyramids together, we'll help you capture amazing photos. If you wish, you can visit the Solar Boat Museum with an additional ticket.
A delicious lunch will be served at a local restaurant before we proceed to Saqqara Necropolis. Here, you'll explore the famous Step Pyramid Complex, tombs of nobles from the Old Kingdom, and vibrant daily life scenes depicted in their decorations. Finally, you'll have the opportunity to enter either the pyramid of King Teti or the pyramid of King Unas.
Our last stop is Memphis City, the ancient capital of Egypt for nearly a thousand years during the pyramid-building era. It held significant cultural and religious importance throughout ancient Egyptian history. Upon arrival, you'll visit the Memphis Museum to see treasures such as the alabaster sphinx and the colossal statue of King Ramses II.
We'll then transfer you back to your hotel in Cairo for overnight stay.
