After enjoying a delicious buffet breakfast at the hotel, you’ll meet your personal tour guide to start your Cairo day trips. Your first visit will be to the Giza Pyramids, including the Great Pyramid of Cheops (around 4500 years old), the Pyramid of Chephren (built 20 years later), and the Pyramid of Mycerinus. The ancient Egyptians built these pyramids to ensure a spiritual passage for their pharaohs into the afterlife, and the Sphinx was constructed to protect these deceased kings. The tour will end with a visit to the magnificent Sphinx and the Valley Temple, constructed from limestone, granite, and alabaster.
Next, you’ll be transferred to the Step Pyramid of King Djoser in Saqqara. This is the oldest stone structure in the world, built from stacked stone mastabas by the renowned architect and vizier Imhotep during the 3rd Dynasty. Saqqara, located approximately 27 km southwest of Cairo, is one of Egypt's richest archaeological sites, showcasing the Mastaba tombs of nobles and the evolution of burial practices in ancient Egypt.
Following a delightful lunch at an elegant restaurant, you’ll visit Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt’s Old Kingdom. Here, you’ll see the impressive statue of Ramses II and the grand Alabaster Sphinx, the second-largest sphinx after the Great Sphinx of Giza. Memphis was founded by King Menes, who unified Upper and Lower Egypt around 5100 years ago, marking the start of the 1st Dynasty.
After completing your Saqqara and Memphis tour, you’ll be transferred back to your hotel.
