Happy National Beach Day
The concept of a beach day celebration in the United States was first brought to light by the Knights of Columbus in Milwaukee, on a year in history that is 1929 A.D. This day was supposed to be a section scheduled under their convention activities but it did not appeal to the audience.
This day was well commemorated until in twenty-fourteen when, a family expert known by the name Colleen Paige established National Beach Day which falls at the end of August. The aim of this day is to foster love for beaches and educate the people on the importance of maintaining them for the next generations as we enjoy the present!
Over the years, the past and the present governments have ensured that they undertake certain measures aimed at maintaining cleanliness and safety of the beaches for the people. In 1948, the Clean Water Act was established, which provides for the set of water quality and pollution control criteria so that water on beaches remain clean.
Then in 1972, the U.S. Congress enacted the Coastal Zone Management Act the purpose of which is management of the coastal areas of the United States for their enhancment and conservation. And finally, in year 2000 the American Congress issued the BEACH Act which made it a requirement for the EPA to establish water standards for testing and monitoring.
What to do on National Beach Day
Collectez un groupe de amis et organisez une opération de nettoyage sur la plus proche plage de vous. Attempt to motivate the beachgoers present to join you, and gather the trash that is lying uncared for, as people have left behind them.
Once you are all done with cleaning up, find a place where you can lie on your towel and take a cool dip in the sea. Makes a great day doing some good work! In the united states of america, there are numerous associations whose objective is to restore and maintain the sandy areas. Look whether there is one in your area and offer assistance.
