Hurghada International Airport is an international airport about 4 km from Hurghada, and the civil airport is located within the scope of the Hurghada military base. In May 1966, the state allocated 102 thousand pounds to prepare Hurghada Airport to receive jet planes carrying tourist groups in response to the desire of tourism companies to land planes coming from Europe directly instead of landing at Cairo International Airport and then traveling to Hurghada. However, after the 1967 war, the airport was allocated to the war effort until victory was achieved in the October War in 1973. With the beginning of the peace talks, the Authority prepared and operated part of this airport for civil aviation flights in November 1977.
