Sokhna Port is one of the Egyptian ports overlooking the Red Sea. Sokhna Port is located on the western coast of the Gulf of Suez, covering an area of 22.3 square kilometers and 43 km from the city of Suez. The port currently accommodates more than 350 thousand containers.

In 2008, Dubai Ports acquired Sokhna Port Development Company and announced that it would build a 1,300-metre-long quay with a draft of 16 metres to accommodate two million TEUs annually, and build a liquid bulk terminal with a storage area of 400,000 square metres, in addition to a general cargo terminal with a quay length of 800 metres.
It is expected that the volume of investments in the port will reach about 2.2 billion dollars during the next three years, with the start of operation of several projects in the port, with investments amounting to about 860 million dollars, including a sugar and vegetable fuel refinery and an ammonia production plant.
