Amun was the principal deity of Thebes during the New Kingdom, and the Egyptians revered him by constructing many temples in his name, including Karnak, Luxor, and El Deir el Bahari. Karnak Temple is famous for its massive columns, among the most remarkable built by the ancient Egyptians.
You’ll then continue to Luxor Temple, dedicated to Amun-Re, a key figure in ancient Egyptian mythology. This temple, built during the reigns of Hatshepsut and Tuthmosis III, served as a religious hub for centuries before an earthquake in 27 BC caused extensive damage.
