You will be collected from Safaga Port and transported to Luxor, enjoying the stunning vistas of the Red Sea and the Egyptian desert along the way. Once you arrive in Luxor, your journey begins with a visit to the Karnak Temple, one of Egypt’s most extraordinary religious complexes. Built over 1,000 years, it was constructed by various pharaohs to honor the god Amun.
Amun was the principal deity of Thebes during the New Kingdom, and the Egyptians revered him by constructing many temples in his name, including Karnak, Luxor, and El Deir el Bahari. Karnak Temple is famous for its massive columns, among the most remarkable built by the ancient Egyptians.
You’ll then continue to Luxor Temple, dedicated to Amun-Re, a key figure in ancient Egyptian mythology. This temple, built during the reigns of Hatshepsut and Tuthmosis III, served as a religious hub for centuries before an earthquake in 27 BC caused extensive damage.
After visiting these awe-inspiring landmarks, you’ll return to your hotel for dinner and a well-deserved rest.
