After checking into your hotel, our English-speaking tour guide will take you on a tour of the West Bank, a UNESCO World Heritage site and home to many of Egypt’s most iconic landmarks.
First, visit the Tombs of the Nobles and the Valley of the Kings. You’ll also have the chance to see Al-Deir Al-Bahari Temple, located a little further from Luxor’s city center but well worth the visit. Here, you can admire statues of several pharaohs, including King Tutankhamun, who was famously found buried in his tomb. Next, explore the Temple of Ramesses II, which was constructed during the 19th dynasty. These temples are surrounded by a complex system of canals, which were once used for irrigation and transport.
Your tour will then continue with a visit to the Temple of Hatshepsut, built during the 18th dynasty and standing as one of Egypt’s earliest examples of female rulership.
Lastly, visit the Colossi of Memnon, two enormous statues erected by King Amenhotep III for his mortuary temple, later usurped by King Merenptah for his own.
After visiting these extraordinary sites, we’ll head back to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
