If you’re one of those people who enjoys camping and would like to go out for a more exciting adventure, hot why not take a day trip to Fayoum City from Cairo and add an overnight stay at Wadi El Hitan? It is the 'Valley of Whales' which is an area that is well known for its stunning fossils. This place has been in existence since 1952 when it was declared in the heart of the archaeological zone with the preserved whales and sharks fossils that inhabited the region millions of years ago.

You will stay in a tent below the stars, and after which the next day you will be ready and refreshed for a full-day tour of the marvelous sites of Cairo, which include the Great Pyramids and Sphinx as well as the Egyptian Museum. In the course of your Fayoum tour, you will also be able to rest and appreciate the beauty of the landscape and the history of this wonderful region of Egypt.

In the early hours of your day, you are bound to have a joyous coaches drive from your hotel in Cairo towards the city of Fayoum for approximately an hour. After that, board a private bus that will take you to Wadi El Hitan where some of the awe-inspiring fossils on earth are found. This valley located in the southwest of Cairo on the west tributary of the Nile at Fayoum province has most interesting many fossils including reptiles such as crocodiles and hippos, turtles and fish vertebrates.

While undertaking the captivating wastelands, I mean deserts of Fayoum we will also Ken on proceeding to the beautiful Tunis village where there is a pottery art school and appreciate the sights of Lake Qaroun before heading to the camping site which will be reached in a very short time. At wintry weather such as this, we will enjoy camping in Wadi El Hitan, the management has prepared a suitable site for this and will assign a warden to cater for us. A buffet lunch will be provided at the campsite and a hearty buffet breakfast will be served before we leave for Cairo early in the day.

It is advisable to extend your stay to at least a night in this beautiful region, in order to appreciate its geographical beauty. This is a trip that you will take and come back eager to do it again.

Wearing comfy clothes and walking shoes would be advisable for the valley stroll to make it enjoyable for you and your family.

Following the lavish meal, you will appreciate the expansive scenery of Lake Qaroun, one of the oldest natural basins in the globe and third by size in Egypt. Afterward, we will head to Wadi El Rayan, where this two-lake water body has the sole waterfalls in the country, and the views are out of this world; no doubts about that. Make sure to stop by to see these amazing falls before we proceed back to the airport for the flight back home.

You may want to opt for an added sandboarding excursion in El Fayoum, located in Wadi El Rayan, if you have some spare time.
