Itinerary
We'll meet you anywhere in Cairo or Giza to begin our exciting budget tour to Mount Sinai and St Catherine's Monastery. The drive takes about five hours in a private vehicle, where your personal tour guide will provide an overview of the history and significance of this sacred site for all religions.
Upon arrival, you'll check into your hotel and have the remainder of the day to explore the tranquil surroundings. In the evening, we’ll start a three-hour hike up Mount Sinai to experience the sunrise from the summit, where Prophet Moses received the commandments from God while his people waited below for him to bring the divine laws to Earth.
The next day, we'll begin our descent from Mount Sinai and enjoy breakfast before embarking on a guided tour of St Catherine's Monastery. During the visit, you'll have the chance to see the monastery's most sacred site, the Chapel of the Burning Bush, located behind the basilica's altar. This area is usually kept locked to the public, and visitors must remove their shoes, just as Moses did when approaching the burning bush, according to the Holy Qur'an.
Following the tour, we'll drive back to Cairo, concluding our most economical trip to St Catherine's Monastery. The journey back will take approximately five hours.
