Your Egypt Desert Safari trips will be seamlessly organized by Cairo Top Tours, with our knowledgeable tour guide picking you up from your hotel.
Sit back and relax as we transport you in a comfortable, air-conditioned 4-wheel safari vehicle along the Cairo-El Fayoum desert road towards Wadi Rayan. This stunning location features two interconnected lakes connected by picturesque waterfalls. Set amidst the Western Desert of Egypt, Wadi El Rayan is located approximately 42 meters below sea level and was formed in 1970 due to an excess of drainage water from the surrounding farmlands in Fayoum. The sight of waterfalls in the midst of the desert is truly awe-inspiring and unique.
Continue your desert safari trip to Wadi El Rayan and Wadi Hitan by driving along the road until you reach Wadi Hitan. This area is adorned with whale skeletons that serve as remarkable subjects for photography. Wadi Hitan, also known as the Valley of the Whales, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site situated within the Wadi El Rayan Natural Reserve. You will embark on a 40-kilometer journey inside the reserve, stopping at Mudawara Mountain, a magnificent spot offering panoramic views of the surrounding breathtaking scenery, with El Fayoum Lake to the west.
Explore the national park of Wadi Hitan, often referred to as an open museum, which holds great historical significance in the evolution of whales. Dating back 40 million years, it is one of the oldest sites in the world, showcasing the evolution of these majestic creatures. Within the park, you'll find over 400 types of whale and sea cow skeletons, along with other bones, shells, and plant fossils, some of which are preserved in soft rocks.
Finally, we will transfer you back to your hotel in Cairo, ensuring a comfortable and memorable experience throughout.
