To visit the Roman Temple of Deir El Hagar, which is situated in the middle of the desert and partially buried by sand dunes, travel to the ancient town of Al Qasr and drive from Farafa to Dakhla for about three hours. The temple was built by the renowned Roman Emperors during the 26th dynasty. Visit some of the most exquisite rock-cut tombs in Egypt at El Muzawwaqqa, a Roman cemetery.
Visit the ancient Islamic village of Al Qasr, which dates back to the 12th century A.D., after you finish your meal to see the old houses arranged in very interesting narrow alleys, the ancient oil press, the ancient wheat grinder, the ancient court, the ancient prison, as well as an ancient school and an Ayyubid mosque.
Spend the afternoon relaxing by the pool like a hot spring then visit the lush Dakhla farms uniquely invaded by the golden sand dunes and dominated by the clear blue sky to enjoy the sunset on the Edge of the Great Sand Sea with a tasty Bedouin tea.
