Itinerary

We will accompany you to the airport from your hotel in Luxor. Our guide will be waiting for you when you get off the plane at Cairo Airport. The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization has in the central hall around 1600 selected pieces that illustrate the different Egyptian civilizations and they are classified in a specific order to aid in Egypt’s National Narrative. This museum, which was legislated into existence in 2016, received 22 royal mummies in April 2021 during a grand celebration dubbed the “Royal Mummies Parade.”

The story about the founding of that museum goes back almost forty years ago, specifically in 1983 when the Egyptian government together with UNESCO initiated a competition to pick a design for the museum out of 65 designs submitted.

Like the Egyptian Museum and the Grand Museum, The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization is not considered an archaeological museum because it does not only focus on history. It also utilizes modern multimedia approaches (instead of the more traditional methods) in which the objects on display do not take the role of the main character, but rather serve as witnesses to the ingenuity of the Egyptian mind and are showcased through advanced techniques of presentation and simulation.

Enjoy touring the Nile Hall as well, which shows everything about the everlasting river and how it influenced Egyptian civilization, including the delta's old morphology, agriculture, its implements, and dams.  Following that, you will be driven to the Giza region for a quad bike ride before being driven to Cairo Airport in time for your departure.  After that, you will be picked up by our vehicle and driven to your Luxor hotel.
