Itinerary

This will be the beginning of your fabulous and unforgettable vacation with the Cairo Top Tours team. You will be met by our representative upon arrival at Luxor Airport or picked up from any hotel in Luxor for transfer to your enchanting cruise, where you can enjoy the best five days of your life. You will check in to your cruise and have your first delicious lunch to get ready for your exciting and special tour today. You will meet one of our team's best-certified tour guides to visit two of Luxor's largest temples.

You will visit the vast Karnak Temple, which is famous worldwide for its religious and political significance in ancient times. You will see the sacred lake at Karnak Temple, which is considered one of the most important secrets of ancient Pharaonic life. It contains stagnant water, the level of which never rises or falls, and it never dries up year-round. King Thutmose III ordered its excavation and personally supervised its construction. It is located just a few steps from the distinctive "Pharaonic Scarab" in the heart of Karnak. It was used for purification and washing in ancient Pharaonic times, before religious rituals for kings, priests, and temple servants. He explained that there is a Nile River gauge on both sides of the lake to determine the annual flooding times.

You will also visit the Luxor Temple, which was a famous place of worship and is still used for the same purpose today. However, it has witnessed several significant changes over the centuries. During the Old Christian era, the big hypostyle hall was converted into a Christian church, the beautiful remains of which can be seen today. It was later converted into a mosque and preserved, along with the relics and remains of the ancient temple. In the past, the northern end of the temple was an entrance to the temple, containing a row of seven pairs of papyrus columns rising to 16 meters. Inside the temple is a hall with 32 other columns, in addition to a small hall, a beautiful waiting room, a birth room, and the famous Church of Alexander the Great at the rear.

After exploring these magnificent archaeological sites, we will return you to the cruise to enjoy a wonderful dinner on the banks of the Nile.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

The cruise team will provide you with a delicious and fresh breakfast to get ready for the start of your enjoyable tour today. Accompanied by your professional tour guide, you will visit one of Luxor's most famous and beautiful landmarks, the Valley of the Kings. The Valley of the Kings is the burial site of all the great pharaohs from 1539 to 1075 BC, from Pharaoh Thutmose I to Pharaoh Ramesses X. The 62 known tombs display a unique diversity of planning and decoration. In 1979, UNESCO listed the wonderful Valley of the Kings, the enchanting Valley of Queens, and the Karnak Temple among the most important and famous archaeological sites in the world.

You will visit the famous Deir el-Bahari Funerary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, with its unique architectural design, unlike any other Egyptian temple built on the East Bank. Magnificent, big limestone statues of the god Osiris and Queen Hatshepsut are placed in magical positions in front of the second-story columns. These statues were originally painted in stunning and beautiful colors. Recently, the famous sanctuary of Amun-Ra, located in the Holy of Holies, was reopened within the temple after 56 years of closure.

You will visit the two huge Colossi of Memnon, made from blocks of quartzite sandstone quarried from the Red Mountain near Cairo and transported 675 km by land to Luxor, as it is believed that the stones were too heavy and huge to be transported against the Nile. The blocks later used by Roman engineers to rebuild the northern statue may have come from Edfu.

After visiting these impressive archaeological sites, you will return to the cruise for dinner and a restful sleep.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

On your third day on the cruise, you'll enjoy a delicious breakfast, allowing you to explore the many important archaeological sites of the day with energy.

Today, you'll visit the ancient, wonderful Temple of Edfu, where the renowned joint archaeological mission between the Supreme Council of Antiquities and one of the most famous universities in the world, the University of Würzburg in Germany, succeeded in revealing the original, different, stunning colors of the Temple of Edfu and several inscriptions that appeared for the first time during the restoration project of the roof of this temple. During the restoration of the roof and walls of the temple's sanctuary, remains of colored scenes and intricate inscriptions by priests written in Demotic script were uncovered, in addition to traces of gold paint used to gild reliefs of precious magnificent jewelry, royal insignia, and the bodies of the gods.

You will visit the renowned Kom Ombo Temple. The ancient word "Kom Ombo is an old Pharaonic word that means "hill of gold." The temple contains many magnificent inscriptions that tell the story of the god Maat, the god of truth and justice in ancient Egypt. The northern part of this ancient temple was especially dedicated to the worship of the powerful falcon god Horus, while the southern part was dedicated to the worship of the famous sacred triad of the god Sobek. In ancient times, the Kom Ombo Temple area controlled access to the precious gold mines of ancient Egypt. In Egyptian texts, this area was known as "Basobek," the place where the god Sobek was worshipped since pre-dynastic times.

After learning about the history of these two magnificent temples, we will return you to your cruise for dinner and an oriental entertainment show.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

You will have breakfast on board the cruise and prepare to enjoy the breathtaking beauty of Aswan by visiting many of the most famous and stunning archaeological sites. The famous Temple of Isis is one of the most enduring and lasting ancient Egyptian temples in Egypt, remaining in operation until the reign of the powerful Byzantine Emperor Justinian, who ordered the closing of all pagan temples immediately. A priest named Ismet-Akhom inscribed the last hieroglyphic text, dating back to the fourth century AD, and the temple was subsequently converted into a church.
You will visit the unfinished obelisk of the strong Queen Hatshepsut, which is one of Aswan's most famous landmarks. Located in the waterfall area, this obelisk is a testament to the greatness of the ancient Egyptians, their astonishing progress, and their prolific production of unique ancient Egyptian art. The quarry of the unfinished obelisk was a source of raw granite for the Delta and other regions along the Nile River.

You will also see the High Dam, which has gained widespread fame as one of Egypt's largest and most famous engineering projects. The Egyptian government overcame numerous difficulties and attempts by foreign countries to impose their conditions on Egypt in exchange for financing this project, but the Egyptian government categorically refused. The Soviet Union contributed to the financing of this project, and it was built by Egyptian hands.
When you have finished your exploration of the most popular tourist attractions, you will be transferred to the cruise.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

You will enjoy a delicious breakfast on board your cruise before checking out. You can book an additional excursion to the idyllic Abu Simbel Temples. You will see the dazzling statues of King Ramses II, depicting the king seated on a throne wearing the magnificent double crown of Upper and Lower Egypt. You see many magnificent and majestic scenes depicting King Ramses II, revealing his connection to the god Osiris. He is also depicted in several majestic scenes presenting gifts and offerings to the gods and burning incense. At the top of the cornice, it is decorated with architectural ornaments bearing the cartouches of King Ramses II surrounded by snakes and two carved images of Amun and Ra-Horakhty.

Above the cornice, you will find a row of more than twenty statues of sacred monkeys with dog heads, standing on their feet with their hands raised, saluting the sun at sunrise. Members of the royal family gather around the legs of the colossal statues, as usual. Then we will transfer you to Aswan Airport or Aswan Train Station.
