Itinerary

Your tour guide will meet you outside the Alexandria port exit gate, holding a sign with your full name. It will be a direct transfer to Cairo for your Alexandria shore excursion, with an approximate journey from the port of a few hours.

Commence from the Giza Plateau, where you will be able to visit the Great Pyramid, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The Pyramids of Giza are remarkable manifestations of ancient Egyptian architectural legacy, and their construction by millions of stone blocks remains an enigma to historians and engineers. These pyramids were built as tombs for the Pharaohs, as the Egyptians believed strongly in the afterlife and were keen to erect grand edifices to pay homage to their rulers. The Sphinx, located near the Pyramids, is another source of mystery and symbolism. Its enormous size and human-lion hybrid form continue to fascinate people worldwide.  Afterward, your guide will take you to witness the second and third pyramids of Chephren and Mykerinos as well as the magnificent Sphinx, a bodily mass of a lion and head of a human symbolizing a deity.

Then, we will head to the Valley Temple of King Chephren, after which we will head to the Nile River to enjoy a one-hour lunch cruise. A delicious oriental buffet lunch will be served while you enjoy the views of the Cairo Tower and other famous Egyptian landmarks along the Nile.

While you cruise, a belly dancer will entertain you, as well as the stunning Tanoura Dance, also referred to as the spinning dervish show.

At the end of this memorable day tour in Egypt, your knowledgeable tour guide will escort you back to the cruise ship, Alexandria Port.

The construction of the Great Pyramid required an enormous amount of resources. Approximately 5.5 million tonnes of limestone and 8,000 tonnes of granite were transported over a distance of 800km from Aswan. Additionally, 500,000 tonnes of mortar were used. The limestone was used to create a smooth outer layer, which gave the pyramid a polished appearance.

Despite the beauty and historical significance of the Nile River, it is not always safe for swimming. Swimming in the Nile is not advised due to the risk of drowning, pollution, and strong currents. It's best to look for safe alternatives for swimming such as coastal areas or designated pools.

Transportation-provided guided tours, bus transfers, and private cars are the most common alternatives for Alexandria shore excursions.
