Itinerary

After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, another day now starts in Luxor for West Bank office visitation, where you shall be driven to Valley of the Kings (the site chosen by Pharaohs of the New Kingdom to be their burial tombs hidden amidst the hills) unlike the Old Kingdom Pharaos who built great pyramids that can be visited with the general tour to the Giza pyramids.
The tombs are still being excavated in some of the best-preserved sites for wall paintings, scenes, and engravings. Most royal tombs are open for visiting except two that will require an extra ticket. The tomb of Tutankhamun, found in reasonable condition in 1922, now has all its exhibits in Cairo, which you can see with our Egyptian Museum tour. After that, visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut (Temple of El Deir El Bahri or the Northern Monastery), one of the truly marvelous temples to be found in Egypt, having been cut into the mountain and built by Hatshepsut, one of the very few and most famous female pharaohs of Egypt.
Now we see the grandiose Colossi of Memnon, the two great seated statues carved in the period of King Amenhotep III, which are henceforth seen as the only remaining standing statues confronting the mortuary temple of the King, which once used to stand at this very place!
