Itinerary
The Cairo journey starts with an early morning landing at Cairo International Airport, where you will meet your guide for the day, who will be driving you to the Giza Plateau, home of Egypt's loveliest attractions: the Pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx. Explore the magnificence of the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure as you admire the ancient engineering marvels with historical importance around them. Throughout the tour, learn interesting facts from your guide regarding the construction and mysteries of these wonders.
Finally, stand before the Great Sphinx, the legendary statue carved in limestone that has a lion's body and a pharaoh's head, in awe. The visit will also include a visit to the Valley Temple, which had great importance for ancient burial rituals.
After lunch at a local restaurant, you will proceed with your sightseeing trip to the vast necropolis of Memphis and visit the Step Pyramid of Djoser, the oldest pyramid in Egypt and an early architectural masterpiece. The end of the day will be in Memphis, the first capital of Egypt, where you will visit an open-air museum with the colossus of Ramses II and the Alabaster Sphinx.
