Our tour begins with an easy pick-up from your hotel or Nile cruise ship in Luxor. Meet and greet your expert Egyptologist guide and commence a beautiful journey filled with the wonders of ancient Thebes.

Starting from the great Karnak Temple, the largest religious complex in the world. Walk into the esplanade of the grand Hypostyle Hall, with towering obelisks, a sacred lake, and your guide telling you about the temple's history.

Then you are off to the Luxor Temple, an architectural masterpiece of ancient Egyptian architecture that is linked to Karnak by the Avenue of Sphinxes. Admire its statues, pylons, and chapels, dedicated to various deities and pharaohs, including Ramses II and Amenhotep III.

Before making a crossing over to the West Bank, we will make a brief stop at the Colossi of Memnon. These are two stupendous statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, having been around for more than 3,000 years, guarding the entrance to his almost-invisible mortuary temple.

Crossing the Nile to the West Bank leads you to the fabled Valley of the Kings, the burial site of Egypt's greatest pharaohs. Enter up to three royal tombs (Tutankhamun's tomb requires an additional ticket) and marvel at the colorful wall paintings depicting scenes from the afterlife.

If time allows, pay a visit to the Medinet Habu Temple, the funerary temple of Ramses III, famous for its finely preserved reliefs and enormous pylons illustrating the military victories of the pharaoh.

At the end of a long day touring the ancient treasures of Luxor, you will be returned to your hotel or Nile cruise.
