Story of Gabal Shayeb Al Banat - Red Sea Mountain

Story of Gabal Shayeb Al Banat - Red Sea Mountain

The Red Sea mountain range is considered one of the highest mountain peaks in the governorates of Egypt, and it is seen from long distances from different governorates, and among those mountains and mountain peaks are several famous mountains in the north of the governorate and in the south, the highest among them is the peak of Jabal shayb Al-Banat, and it is considered the second after Mount Catherine in Sinai.

The inhabitants of the desert or the tribes of Al-Maaza living in the Hurghada desert called him "shayb al-banat" for the appearance of his peak in the first sunlight as an old man, about 45 kilometers away from the city of Hurghada, specifically in the south-west direction of the city, and the mountain safari workers call him the Everest of the Red Sea.

Bashar Abu Taleb, the captain of the tour guides in the Red Sea, says that Jebel Al-Shayeb is the highest mountain peak in the Red Sea and there are a lot of mountaineering lovers from tourists who organize trips to climb it, and there are a lot of tourists who love that sport, but it is not done in a big way among the various tourists in the governorate.

The captain of the tour guides added that the summit of Jabal Al-Shayeb or Everest of the Red Sea is considered distinctive amid the Red Sea mountain range, and it can be viewed from long distances, as well as viewing the Sinai and Qena mountains from its most expensive peak, where it is 2187 meters long, and is the third in Egypt and Sudan after Mount Catherine and Moses in Sinai.

For his part, Ibrahim Saleh, one of the Sons of Bedouin tribes, said that there are many trips to Jabal Al-Shayeb from tourists through safaris, but few of them can reach the top, but many tribesmen from the summit, stressing that Jabal Al-Shayeb takes about 3 days to climb and descend from it, where it is possible to climb easily while the descent takes a long time, explaining that Jabal Al-Shayeb is characterized by the presence of a lake in the Middle filled with water in times of rain and torrents and can drink from it.

Jabal al-shayb is a guide or sign for the people of the desert to know the way in the desert as well as know the directions well through it, and there are a lot of foreign tourists interested in geology and the terrain of the desert who reach it on various scientific trips.

It is noteworthy that the Red Sea governorate, and its various tourist cities, especially the city of Hurghada, the bride of the Red Sea, the capital of Arab Tourism, and the best tourist destinations globally, is a case of tourist turnout, as the Red Sea governorate received tourists from 58 countries around the world last year 2022, those tourists arrive through airports and seaports in the governorate and from ports and airports from other governorates.

During the past year, the Red Sea governorate achieved 59.05% Public Works rates during the year in all its tourist cities, headed by Hurghada, the capital of the governorate, as most of the governorate's cities have Resorts and tourist hotels that take tourists from all over the world and away from the cities of Hurghada, Safaga and Marsa Alam, the most accessible for tourists, as the cities of Qusayr and the south are located on the outskirts of several tourist hotels.

Djoser

Djoser was an ancient Egyptian pharaoh of the 3rd Dynasty during the Old Kingdom and was the founder of that epoch. He is also known by his Hellenized names Tosorthros (from Manetho) and Sesorthos (from Eusebius). He was the son of King Khasekhemwy and Queen Nimaathap, but whether he was also the direct successor to their throne is unclear. Most Ramesside king lists identify a king named Nebka as preceding him, but there are difficulties in connecting that name with contemporary Horus names, so some Egyptologists question the received throne sequence. Djoser is known for his step pyramid, which is the earliest colossal stone building in ancient Egypt
