Itinerary

Your tour facilitator will welcome you at the Alexandria port exit gate with the custom sign of your complete name. From there, a direct transfer to Cairo will begin your Alexandria shore excursion, taking site hours to travel from the port.

The adventure will commence on the Giza Plateau, where you can access the Great Pyramid's site and explore one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The Pyramids of Giza are one of the greatest architectural works of ancient Egypt. Their precise construction involving millions of blocks of stone is still a marvel for historians and engineers to this day. The Pyramids were built as tombs for the pharaohs, as the Egyptians had a strong belief in the existence of an afterlife and needed to have monumental structures to honor their rulers. Your guide will take you then to the second and third pyramids which are Chephren and Mykerinos as well as the beautiful Sphinx which represents the god with a head of a human and the body of a lion where strength is depicted.

After that, we will pay a visit to the Valley Temple of King Chephren before we depart for the Nile River to enjoy a one-hour lunch cruise. During this hour, you will savor a delectable oriental buffet lunch with the backdrop of Cairo Tower and various other famous Egyptian landmarks along the magical Nile.

While sailing, you will entertain with an amazing belly dancing and Tanoura Dance, also called as a spinning dervish programme.

Finally, this wonderful Egypt day tour will end as your well-versed guide will take you back to the cruise ship in Alexandria Port.

The construction of the Great Pyramid required an enormous amount of resources. Approximately 5.5 million tonnes of limestone and 8,000 tonnes of granite were transported over a distance of 800km from Aswan. Additionally, 500,000 tonnes of mortar were used. The limestone was used to create a smooth outer layer, which gave the pyramid a polished appearance.

Despite the beauty and historical significance of the Nile River, it is not always safe for swimming. Swimming in the Nile is not advised due to the risk of drowning, pollution, and strong currents. It's best to look for safe alternatives for swimming such as coastal areas or designated pools.

Transportation-provided guided tours, bus transfers, and private cars are the most common alternatives for Alexandria shore excursions.
