It is also so important to know that the castle witnessed many historical events from the Ayyubid era to the end of the Muhammad Ali dynasty, which ruled Egypt from the 19th century until the July Revolution of 1952. Over time many facilities have been added to the castle, the most important of which are: Muhammad Ali Mosque is one of the famous monumental mosques in Cairo. It was built by Muhammad Ali Pasha between 1830 and 1848 in the Ottoman style, modeled after the Sultan Ahmed Mosque in Istanbul. It is sometimes called the Alabaster Mosque because of the frequent use of this type of marble in the cladding of its walls.

Then you will enjoy an unforgettable excursion exploring a very important part of the Saladin Citadel. The Muhammad Ali Mosque is one of the most magnificent mosques in Cairo. Muhammad Ali Pasha built it between 1830 and 1848 following the Ottoman architecture, based on the Sultan Ahmed Mosque in Istanbul. Its walls are usually covered with this type of marble, so it is sometimes known as the Alabaster Mosque. As one of Egypt's most prominent tourist and archaeological landmarks, the Egyptian state highlighted the mosque by decorating the face of several paper and silver coins with its image, which is currently used as a twenty-pound bill, unlike previous coins that were decorated with its image, such as the ten piastres paper coin and the ten piastres metal coin.
