Overview

We will take you from the stunning city of Hurghada, one of the cities on the Red Sea coast, to Luxor, the center of ancient Egyptian civilization and one of the richest cities in the world, making it a popular tourist destination. If you are an avid lover of history and civilization, don't pass up this chance to combine the charm of the sea with the tradition of history.

While on your tour in Luxor, you will have the opportunity to view the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, which was built under the 18th Dynasty in addition to the Temple of Mentuhotep. It is famous for its size and yet continues to surprise tourists because of its beauty and unique design, as opposed to the temples that had already been built in Thebes, on the eastern bank of the Nile. The Copts constructed a monastery to pray in the temple of Hatshepsut in the early Christian era. The monastery was constructed by Queen Hatshepsut to conduct rituals that would help her in the afterlife. The location was referred to as Al-Deir Al-Bahri with the current Arabic name in the 7th century AD. The first monument built on the site was the tomb temple of Mentuhotep II, who ruled in the 11th century BC. The monastery survived until the 11th century AD. Amenhotep I and Hatshepsut also constructed a vast majority on the site in the 18th dynasty.

The Valley of the Kings was used to build tombs for more than 500 years, from the 16th to the 11th centuries BC, for the pharaohs and nobles of the New Kingdom, which lasted from the 18th to the 20th dynasty of Ancient Egypt. From a basic hole in the ground to a sophisticated tomb with more than 120 burial rooms inside, 63 tombs of varying sizes have been discovered to yet.

You will enjoy a special visit to the two Colossi of Memnon; they are all that remains of a temple built in honor of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, who ruled Egypt during the 18th Dynasty. Standing with his hands on his knees and looking east (or, more recently, southeast) toward the river, the two statues depict Amenhotep III, who lived in the 14th century BC.

Luxor is situated on the banks of the Nile River, which separates Egypt into the Eastern and Western Mainland. Beginning with a tour of the western mainland, we will have the opportunity to visit the Valley of the Kings, which was utilized for 500 years between the sixteenth and eleventh centuries BC to construct tombs for the pharaohs and nobles of the New Kingdom, which spanned the eighteenth through twentieth dynasties of ancient Egypt.

Next, we'll visit the Temple of Hatshepsut, also called the Bahari Monastery, which is a collection of pharaonic tombs and temples situated across from Luxor, Egypt, on the west bank of the Nile.We will continue our tour of the western land by visiting the two statues of MemnonThose are the last remnants of a temple built in Honor of Amenhotep III, the Eighteenth Dynasty Egyptian ruler. The monastery was constructed by Queen Hatshepsut to perform rituals that would benefit her in the other world. In the seventh century AD, the Copts used this temple as a monastery, and the region was given the present-day Arabic name Al-Deir Al-Bahri.

We next embark on another journey to the east bank of Luxor, where we may see the Temple of Luxor. It was established in 1400 BC and was a sizable ancient Egyptian structure. Amun-Ra, his wife Mut, and his son Khonsu—also referred to as the Theban Trinity—were worshipped at the Luxor Temple. The Luxor Temple was built during the 18th and 19th dynasties.

Our journey will come to an end with A modern version of the Arabic word Khurnak, which means walled town and was used for many temples in the area during this time, the city of Karnak is the source of the name of the Karnak temple.

For the ancient Egyptians, the Temple of Karnak was a very special place. They believed it was the beginning of all things. They also believed that Amun-Ra, their god, spoke to them there. This temple is significant to Egypt because it was a place where people went to pray and it teaches us about their ancient religion.
