A visit to the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx is an extraordinary and educational adventure that allows you to explore one of the most famous ancient wonders of the world. Located on the outskirts of Cairo, Egypt, the Pyramids of Giza consist of three main pyramids built for the pharaohs Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure. There are also smaller pyramids and other structures in the area.

You will also visit the Valley Temple, a magnificent structure located near the Pyramids of Giza. This temple, made of huge blocks of limestone, served as a crucial funerary complex for the pharaohs. It is an intriguing look at the burial practices and rituals of ancient Egypt, providing deep insight into their beliefs about the afterlife and the journey of the deceased. Explore the complex architecture and learn from your guide about the importance of the Valley Temple in ancient Egyptian history and culture.

Our incredible 2-day tour will offer you a breathtaking walking tour, and this is a popular way to explore the area, often starting at the Citadel and ending at various mosques, historic houses, and busy souks. Many tours also include visits to nearby Coptic Cairo, where historic churches and temples offer another layer of Cairo's diverse history. Also, you can explore the Egyptian Museum It is one of the largest and most famous museums in the world, located in the heart of the Egyptian capital, Cairo, on the northern side of Tahrir Square. It was established in 1835 and was then located in Azbakeya Park, where it included a large number of diverse artifacts.

The Egyptian Museum is one of the first museums in the world to be established as a public museum, unlike the museums that preceded it. The museum includes more than 180,000 artifacts, the most important of which are the archaeological collections found in the tombs of the kings and royal entourage of the Middle Dynasty in Dahshur in 1894. The museum now houses the world's greatest archaeological collection, expressing all phases of ancient Egyptian history.

Itinerary

Your day begins with an impressive visit to Saqqara, which is truly an open museum, containing most of the monuments of ancient Egyptian history, including the tombs of the kings and high officials of the First and Second Dynasties (ca. 3040-2686 BC), the oldest monumental stone structure in history of King Zesar (ca. 2686-2667 BC), and the pyramids of the most important kings of the Fifth Dynasty (ca. 2494-2345 BC) and the Sixth Dynasty (ca. 2345-2181 BC), including the pyramid of King Wanis (ca. 2686-2667 BC). It has pyramids for the most important kings of the Fifth (ca. 2494-2345 BC) and Sixth (ca. 2345-2181 BC) Dynasties, with the pyramid of King Wanis (ca. 2375-2345 BC) being the first to inscribe its burial chamber with pyramidal texts intended to protect the king during his journey to the other world.

Next, we head to Memphis, which is considered one of the major capitals of ancient Egypt. Its origins are linked to the unification of the Nile Delta and Upper Egypt in the time of King Mina, and it remained the capital of Egypt during the Old Kingdom and the administrative and military capital during the New Kingdom. The name ‘Memphis’ (Μέμφις) is a Greek corruption of the name of Nefer's second pyramid of Pepe, which is still the Coptic word for Mina. Narmer established the first ruling family, created a strong army to protect the country, and made Memphis the capital of Egypt.

We will conclude our first day with a very worthwhile visit to one of the seven wonders of the world still in Cairo which is the Pyramids of Giza where you can explore The Great Pyramid and Khafre are two of the largest pyramids built in ancient Egypt and have become famous symbols of ancient Egypt in the Western imagination. The Great Pyramid became especially famous during the Hellenistic era, when the Greek poet Antipater the Sidonian listed it as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the Great Pyramid is the oldest and the only one that remains intact. You can also see the pyramid complex of Menkaure, consisting of the Valley Temple, a corridor, a funerary temple, and the Pyramid of the King. The Valley Temple housed several statues of King Menkaure, and a smaller frontal temple was added during the 5th Dynasty. The funerary temple also housed several statues of Menkaure. The Pyramid of the King, completed around 2510 BC, contains three sub-pyramids known as the Pyramids of the Queens.

After having your delicious lunch, we will go back to your hotel in Cairo to spend the night.

Your day starts with exploring the Egyptian Museum, one of the largest and most famous museums in the world, located in the heart of the Egyptian capital, “Cairo,” on the north side of Tahrir Square. Its establishment dates back to 1835 and was located at that time in Azbakeya Park, where it included a large number of various antiquities; then it was moved with its contents to the second exhibition hall in the Citadel of Salah al-Din, and in 1902, during the reign of Khedive Abbas Helmy II, the new museum building was inaugurated in its present location in the heart of Cairo. The Egyptian Museum is one of the first museums in the world to be established as a public museum, unlike the museums that preceded it, the museum includes more than 180,000 artifacts, the most important of which are the archaeological collections found in the tombs of the kings and royal entourage of the Middle Dynasty at Dahshur in 1894.

After that, we will continue our adventure to the Citadel of Saladin. The Citadel of Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi, or Mountain Castle, is a castle located on the mountain of Mokattam. It was built by Saladin between 1176 and 1183, using Norman captives. Muhammad Ali added his mosque. It was the seat of the government of Egypt from the time of Saladin (1183) until Khedive Ismail moved the seat of government to the Abdeen Palace, which he built for this purpose in the 1860s. The Citadel of Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi is located in the Qalaa neighborhood - Al-Khalifa section - and was built on a hill on the outskirts of the city of Cairo, separated from the Mokattam mountain.

When your trip comes to an end, we will accompany you to Cairo airport for your flight back to Hurghada, and there, our representative will drive you in a private air-conditioned car to your hotel with new knowledge and unforgettable memories of Cairo.
