Our tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo or Giza at 8:00 am to start an exciting half-day tour of the Giza Pyramids and Sphinx. First, we'll visit the impressive Great Pyramid of Giza, which is the largest and oldest pyramid in the Giza pyramid complex.
Next, we'll head to the Pyramid of Chephren or Khafre, the second tallest and largest pyramid at Giza. Our next stop will be the Pyramid of Mykerinus, another fascinating pyramid to explore. We'll also visit the King Chephren Valley Temple, where you can get a closer look at the iconic Great Sphinx. The Sphinx is a legendary guardian that stands tall on a vast burial complex and has the head of Pharaoh Chephren and the body of a lion. You can even enjoy a camel ride near the Giza Pyramids.
After that, we'll proceed to the Egyptian Museum, which is home to an incredible collection of over 250,000 authentic artifacts dating back thousands of years. Next, we'll visit the Saladin Citadel, built in 1183 AD by Salah al-Din as a defense against Crusader soldiers. You'll have the chance to enjoy the clean air and panoramic views of Cairo from this elevated location. We'll take a break for lunch at a restaurant in Old Cairo, where you can savor the delicious local cuisine.
In Old Cairo, you'll have the opportunity to explore famous landmarks such as the Hanging Church, Ben Ezra Synagogue, Church of St. Barbara, and the Church of Abu Serga. These sites hold great historical and cultural significance, especially the Church of Abu Serga, one of the oldest Coptic churches in Cairo.
To end the day, we'll visit Khan el-Khalili, one of the oldest bazaars in the Middle East. Here, you can immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere and discover a maze of alleys that have been Cairo's bustling commercial hub since the 14th century.
Finally, we'll return to your Cairo hotel where you can relax and spend the night, reflecting on the amazing experiences of the day.
