After having breakfast, our tour leader will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo and take you to Alexandria in a modern and air-conditioned car. You will be checked into the Paradise Inn Beach Resort in Alexandria.
During your tour of Alexandria, you will visit the most significant Greco-Roman remains in the city. You'll explore the Serapeum, a temple that houses Pompey's Pillar, a red granite column, and descend to the Catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa.
To enjoy a seafood feast from the Mediterranean, you'll visit the waterfront. You can then explore the Citadel of Qaitbay, a marine fort built in the 15th century on the site of the historic Lighthouse of Alexandria. The National Museum of Alexandria's underwater archaeological exhibitions will take you back in time to the ancient world.
Afterward, you'll embark on a street-food tour of the city to experience the diverse world of Egyptian cuisine, which draws inspiration from Ottoman and Arab traditions. You'll get to enjoy delicacies like koshary, a zesty concoction of lentils, noodles, and sour tomato sauce, along with kebabs, mixed grills, meze dips, and seafood. Finally, you'll end the tour with ice cream and sweet pastries.
