Before beginning your Cairo Day Trips to the Giza Pyramids, Memphis, and Saqqara, have breakfast at the hotel.
Our tour guide will go with you to the Giza pyramids, where you can find the Great Pyramid of Cheops, the pyramids of Chephren, and the pyramids of Mycerinus. When you arrive, you will see the Great Sphinx, the head of Pharaoh, and the body of a lion, which stands for the strength and knowledge of the king. It was there that the royal corpse of King Chephren was mummified and then interred. Your guide will go over each step of the mummification process with you.
Lunch will be served soon! Following a break for lunch at a first-rate restaurant (Djoser Pyramid), you will be driven to Sakkara to see The Step Pyramid of King Zoser, which is said to be the oldest man-made monument made entirely of stone in the entire world. Also included in your tour are the Kagemni tomb, one of the noble tombs at Sakkara that belonged to King Teti's son-in-law, and the Teti pyramid, which boasts the most breathtaking interior of all the accessible Egyptian pyramids (neither of which require an additional ticket). Views of daily life in ancient Egypt can be seen at these sites, with depictions of all daily activities written and painted on the walls and passageways of the tombs.
We'll then drive you to Memphis, which is just 20 minutes away from Saqqara. There, you'll see an outdoor museum containing relics from the pharaonic capital, such as the enormous statue of King Ramses II and the eighty-ton marble block that was used to make the alabaster sphinx.
When your tour is over, you'll be driven back to your hotel for the night.
