We'll take a plane from Cairo to Luxor today, the historic city where King Tutankhamun rests in his opulent tomb. Visit the West Bank of the Nile River's Luxor and Karnak temples to learn about Egyptian history. As you study about the cultures that built your favorite sites thousands of years ago, you'll see them in a completely new light.
One of the biggest religious buildings in the world at one point, The Karnak Temple, is visited at the start of the tour. Constructed as a tribute to their deities, the pharaohs utilized extensive hieroglyphics to illustrate their lives in hundreds of rooms. Most of Egypt's most beautiful sculptures and statues, including those of Ramses II, can be found there as well.
Next, you'll travel to the Luxor Temple, which is located near Karnak. The Great Hypostyle Hall of Ramses II, which has more than 1,000 columns, the Colossi of Amenhotep III, which were formerly a part of his funerary temple, and King Tutankhamun's tomb are among the most well-known Egyptian artifacts that can be found at this site.
It's time to explore Luxor's West Bank. The most well-known kings, queens, and nobles of ancient Egypt are buried in the Valley of the Kings, which is located there. If that's not enough, there's also the Colossi of Memnon, which consists of two enormous statues of King Amenhotep III, the Temple of Hatshepsut, and Deir el-Bahri, which is the Mortuary Temple of Mentuhotep II.
With our Luxor East and West Tour, we'll show you all of these locations plus more!
