Get ready for an exciting day in Cairo! Start your day with a delicious breakfast at the hotel before meeting your tour guide to embark on an amazing trip. Our first stop is the Egyptian Museum, which houses the most complete exhibition of ancient Egyptian treasures, including some from Tutankhamun's tomb. The museum is located near Tahrir Square and takes about two hours to explore the incredible artifacts from various eras of Egyptian history.
Next, we'll head to the Saladin Citadel, a fortress built in the 12th century by the famous Sultan Saladin, located on a hill and home to one of the most impressive mosques, the Mohamed Ali Mosque. This mosque is made of granite and was founded by the ruler who brought significant reforms to Egypt, modernizing education, military, industrial, and agriculture during his reign.
Our Cairo day tours continue with a visit to the Coptic area of Old Cairo, home to the largest Christian community in Egypt. We'll walk through narrow tunnels and visit various churches, including the St. Sergius, where the holy family took refuge in a crypt. We'll also visit the Hanging Church, suspended on the two towers of the Roman fortress of Babylon, and the Ben Ezra Synagogue.
After a delightful lunch, we'll head to Khan-El-Khalili, the most important bazaar in Egypt. We will take a rest for a typical tea-mint or fresh mango juice at one of the oldest cafes in the area. The souk is free and open until late at night, making it the perfect place to enjoy the lively atmosphere of Cairo. After an exciting day, return to your hotel for a comfortable overnight stay in Cairo.
