Itinerary
A Cairo Top Tours representative will meet and greet you at Luxor Airport or the train station. In an air-conditioned car, you will be driven to your Nile cruise to begin your 5-day Nile cruise with MS Grand Sun.
The first day will be spent settling in, and we will begin by exploring Luxor East Bank Tours Visit the Luxor Temple, which honors the Theban Triad of Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. It is thought to be one of ancient Egypt's best-preserved temples, with many of its original embellishments still intact.
Continue on to the Karnak Temple, which is one of the world's largest ancient religious complexes (spanning over 200 acres). It is made up of temples, chapels, pylons, avenues, and other structures. The centerpieces are two gigantic temples devoted to the god Amon-Ra (the other to his wife Mut) and the goddess Amunet (who was worshiped as Amon's spouse at Thebes).

In Luxor, you can take a Hot Air Balloon trip (optional) in the early morning.
Today is the day for our Luxor West Bank visits. We'll begin with a visit to Queen Hatshepsut's Temple, commonly known as Deir el-Bahri. It was built in the 15th century BCE by King Thutmose III's daughter and has been called after her ever since. The temple was built to commemorate and celebrate Amun, who had favored Hatshepsut and helped her become pharaoh by giving her a celestial father figure: Amun himself.
The Valley of the Kings is a necropolis that comprises numerous tombs built for the monarchs and nobility of Egypt's New Kingdom (1550-1069 BC), such as those belonging to Tutankhamun, Ramses II, and Seti I.
Following that, we'll see the colossi Memnon, two massive stone sculptures of Amenhotep III that were relocated to their current place in the 19th century CE.
Sailing to Edfu through Esna and spending the night on board.

Today you will sail to Edfu, where you will witness the Temple of Horus, one of Egypt's best-preserved structures. Take a guided tour of the temple and admire the well-preserved reliefs representing episodes from Horus' life. Continue sailing to Kom Ombo temple, where you can visit another Temple devoted to Horus erected by Ptolemy VII Philometor (145-117 BC). Return to your cruise ship for a lavish meal.

We awoke to the sound of birds and a fresh breeze from the Nile after a restful night's sleep. It was finally time to get up and go exploring!
As part of our Aswan day tours, we began with a visit to the High Dam. The High Dam really consists of two dams: one for water intake and one for electricity generation. The water intake dam permits water from Lake Nasser to be fed into the turbines, which produce power that is subsequently sold back to Egypt.
Following that, we visited the Philae Temple, one of only two temples remaining standing on the island of Philae, as well as the Unfinished Obelisk, which was begun by Ramses II but never completed due to his death.
After an afternoon felucca ride on the Nile around Kitchener Island, dinner is provided on board your Egyptian Nile cruise.

After a magnificent breakfast on board, we will wave farewell to the MS Grand Sun Egypt Nile River Cruise. Following your departure from the Nile River Cruise, a Cairo Top Tours representative will transport you to Aswan Airport or Aswan railway station, where you can catch your flight. The train is another option.
An extra bus journey from Aswan to Abu Simbel Temples is available.
