You will be picked up from your hotel in Cairo to take a flight for Aswan, where you will see the Temple of Philae and have a Felucca trip to see Elephantine, the High Dam, and the Unfinished Obelisk.
Philae Temple, built in 690 BC to honor Isis, was the last traditional Egyptian temple. The Aswan High Dam, fueled by the Nile River, divides Egypt from Sudan and formed Lake Nasser. Construction began in 1960 and completed in 1968.
The Unfinished Obelisk: The finest granite used to create statues and embellish temples, pyramids, and obelisks was supplied by Aswan in ancient Egypt. Even while the basic construction process is still unknown, the enormous partially completed obelisk in the Northern Quarries has shed much light on how these structures were built. With the exception of the inscriptions, three of the roughly 42m long sides of the shaft were completed.12 p.m. lunch while sailing,
