Our tour guide will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo or Giza at 8:00 am to start your half-day tour of the Giza Pyramids and Sphinx. You'll visit the Great Pyramid of Giza, also known as the Pyramid of Khufu or Cheops, the oldest and only intact survivor of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Next, you'll head to the Pyramid of Khafre or Chephren, the second largest of the three ancient pyramids in Giza.
You'll also visit the Pyramid of Mykerinus and the King Chephren Valley Temple, where you can get a closer look at the Great Sphinx, a legendary guardian with the head of a king and the body of a lion. You can also take a camel ride near the pyramids.
Next, you'll visit the Egyptian Museum, which houses over 250,000 authentic artifacts dating back over 5000 years. There's a special exhibit for Tutankhamen, After that, you'll visit the Saladin Citadel, built in 1183 AD by Salah al-Din to protect himself from Crusader soldiers. You'll see mosques and museums, including the Mosque of Muhammad Ali Pasha, and enjoy expansive views of Cairo.
Lunch will be served at a restaurant in Old Cairo, where you can visit landmarks such as the Hanging Church, Ben Ezra Synagogue, Church of St. Barbara, and Church of Abu Serga, one of the oldest Coptic churches in Cairo.
Finally, you'll explore Khan el-Khalili, one of the oldest bazaars in the Middle East, and learn about the labyrinthine network of alleys that have served as Cairo's commercial hub since the 14th century. We'll then return you to your Cairo hotel for the night.
