On the third day of our itinerary, we will start by visiting Edfu, a city located on the west bank of the Nile River. Edfu is home to the well-preserved Temple of Edfu, dedicated to the falcon god Horus. This ancient temple is a remarkable example of Ptolemaic construction and is definitely worth exploring.
After Edfu, we will head to the Colossi of Memnon, two massive stone statues of the Pharaoh Amenhotep III. These imposing statues have stood in the Theban necropolis for over 3,400 years and are a sight to behold. We will have the opportunity to learn about the history and significance of these iconic sculptures.
Our day will culminate with a visit to the awe-inspiring Karnak Temple in Luxor. This vast complex of temples, chapels, and other buildings is dedicated to the Theban triad of Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. Walking through the grand hypostyle hall and marveling at the towering columns will truly be a memorable experience. With these incredible destinations on our itinerary, the third day promises to be full of history, culture, and breathtaking sights.
