Next, visit the Citadel of Saladin, once the heart of the Egyptian government for centuries. Here, explore the Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali, a unique example of Ottoman architecture in Egypt. Enjoy the sights of Islamic Cairo, with its many historic mosques, sky-piercing towers, and colorful domes, some of which are over a thousand years old.

The Coptic Cairo tour includes the Roman fortress of Babylon and the Hanging Church of the Holy Virgin Mary, also known as Al Mualaka or the suspended church, built above the fortress towers. You will also visit the Church of St. Sergius, built over the crypt where the Holy Family stayed for three months, and the spring from which they drew water. Continue to the Ben Ezra Synagogue, traditionally believed to be where baby Moses was found.

After a delicious lunch, explore the Islamic Cairo trips further at Khan El Khalili bazaar in the heart of medieval Cairo, with its ancient walls, gates, and streets dating back to the 10th century. Conclude the day with a return to your hotel in Cairo.

Arrive in Alexandria, known as the pearl of the Mediterranean and the second capital of Egypt, founded by Alexander the Great. Begin your tour at Pompey’s Pillar, erected. to honor the Roman Emperor Diocletian. Next, visit the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, one of the largest Roman burial sites.

Continue to the seaside to explore the Citadel of Qaitbay, built on the ruins of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria, strategically positioned at the end of a narrow land strip extending into the Eastern Port. Visit the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, a modern revival of the ancient Library of Alexandria, facing the Mediterranean Sea.
