To commence your day, a delectable breakfast will be served aboard your Egypt Nile Cruise. Thereafter, you will be met by your private tour guide to embark on your Aswan Excursions, which will include the following highlights:
The High Dam:
You will visit the Aswan High Dam, a monumental engineering feat that has shielded Egypt from the devastating Nile floods that once submerged the land for extended periods, rendering the water resources largely unusable. Aswan, situated at the southernmost point of Egypt, is located near the first Nile cataract, approximately a thousand kilometers from the capital, Cairo.
The Unfinished Obelisk:
The excursion will then take you to the ancient granite quarries, where the Egyptians during the Old and New Kingdoms laboriously extracted and transported the granite used in the construction of the great pyramids, temples, and monumental obelisks.
Philae Temple:
The tour will continue to the Greco-Roman style Philae Temple, which was dedicated to the worship of the goddess Isis. This temple is one of the four sacred sites associated with the legendary tales of Isis, Osiris, and Horus.
Following the tour, you will be transferred back to the cruise, where you will enjoy a delightful lunch. The afternoon will be free for you to explore Aswan at your own pace. In the evening, a high-quality dinner will be prepared and served aboard the cruise boat, accompanied by an engaging Nubian cultural performance. You will then spend the night in Aswan.
