On the fourth day of the Egypt Nile Cruise Tour, you will start your day with a delightful breakfast served aboard the cruise ship. Afterward, you will meet your private tour guide to begin your Aswan Excursions.
The first stop on the Aswan tour is the High Dam, an engineering marvel that has shielded Egypt from the destructive Nile floods that used to inundate the land for months, allowing for more efficient utilization of the river's water resources. Aswan, the southernmost city in Egypt, is situated at the first Nile waterfall, nearly a thousand kilometers from Cairo.
The next destination is the Unfinished Obelisk, located in the ancient granite quarries where the Egyptians once extracted the raw material used to construct the great pyramids and temples during the Old and New Kingdoms.
The final stop on the Aswan tour is the Greco-Roman style Philae Temple, dedicated to the worship of the goddess Isis. This temple is one of the four locations where the legend of Isis, Osiris, and Horus took place.
After the Aswan excursions, you will be transferred back to the cruise ship to enjoy a lunch meal. The afternoon will be left open for you to explore Aswan at your own pace. In the evening, a high-quality dinner will be prepared and served aboard the cruise boat, followed by an entertaining Nubian cultural show. You will then spend the night docked in Aswan.
